Nicole Harris
Litigation Associate
Nicole is a Litigation Lawyer practicing in the area of Estate and Capacity Litigation. Nicole joined Friedman Estate Litigation shortly after her Call to the Bar on June 24th, 2024.
Born and raised in Barrie, Nicole possesses a longstanding passion and commitment to serving individuals in her community.
Prior to pursuing her career in law, Nicole obtained her Honours B.A. in Psychology (Magna Cum Laude) from Laurentian University, shortly thereafter returning to Simcoe County as part of the Canadian Mental Health Association (“CMHA”). While at CMHA, Nicole served in various roles such as Mental Health and Addictions Counsellor, Case Manager, and Outreach and Crisis Support Worker. From these experiences, Nicole has developed a refined client-centered approach, in which she is able to kindly assist clients to navigate through the most sensitive, vulnerable, and stressful periods of their life. This has grounded Nicole’s drive towards serving clients as a legal advocate and inspired her legal career.
Nicole began her legal journey with Western Law, where she obtained the Dean of Law Scholarship and served as an elected member of the Western Law Student Legal Society. After obtaining her Juris Doctor, Nicole articled in Toronto with the Ministry of the Attorney General in the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (“OPGT”). In this role, Nicole gained experience in the areas wills, estates, power of attorney disputes, substitute decision making, and incapacity litigation. Working with vulnerable individuals, Nicole continued to be guided by her compassionate, diligent, and efficient manner in working with the OPGT’s incapable clients.
Nicole is a mindful, driven and passionate advocate for her clients.
Outside of the office, Nicole can be found taking a hot yoga class, sharing stories over family dinner, grabbing sushi with friends, and indulging in a cuddle session with her cat Clover.
